McHenry, Ill. – State Sen. Pamela Althoff (R-McHenry) released the following statement on December 10 after learning about the passing of Illinois Comptroller Judy Baar Topinka.
"Today Illinois mourns the loss of a great public servant. Judy Baar Topinka was a dynamic trailblazer for women in Illinois government. Her vibrant personality and charisma won the hearts of Illinoisans. She was truly a role model for many and exemplified the meaning of honesty and pragmatism. I hope to help continue her legacy as being "the other red head" in Illinois government, a title she had given me. Her humor never ceased to make me laugh. She will be greatly missed. I offer my condolences to her family and friends during this difficult time."
