The Illinois Department of Transportation unveiled its annual update to the state’s Road Plan on May 1, including nearly $96 million in McHenry County area road and bridge work over the next six years.

In all, more than 42 projects (nearly 50 miles of roadwork) in Sen. Althoff’s district are slated to be completed by the year 2018, with the bulk of it consisting of improvements for US 14, US 20 (Grant Highway), Illinois 31 (Richmond Road/Front Street), Illinois 120, Illinois 173 and Illinois 176.
