The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is designed to help eligible low income households pay for winter energy service. The payment awarded is based on several factors, including household size, location and income and is paid directly to the energy provider on your behalf.

The amount of the payment is determined by household size and income. Income for the past 30 days must be less than: one person $1,361; two people $1,839; three people $2,316 and add $477.75 for each additional person.
