Area residents interested in saving money on their phone bills are invited to attend anupcoming workshop hosted by Sen. Althoff.

At the free events, consumer experts from the Citizens Utility Board will be on hand to discuss tips and tricks on how to reduce phone bill costs, including an automatic analysis of wireless bills, low-cost local calling plans available to consumers and information on the best long-distance calling plan options.

“In the past, these workshops have helped many consumers cut their phone bills by hundreds of dollars a year by making a few common-sense changes,” Althoff said. “A recent CUB analysis found Illinois consumers may be paying as $1 billion too much in their phone bill costs, which shows how much savings is out there. I strongly encourage people who are interested in reducing their phone bills to stop by and receive some real savings.”

The phone bill clinics will be held:

In addition to the phone bill assistance, free legislative brochures, refreshments and prizes will be available to attendees.

To RSVP and for more information, please contact Sen. Althoff’s office at 815-455-6330.
