Area residents interesting in purchasing a new home, or who are concerned about protecting their home during the economic crisis, are encouraged to attend a “Your Home, Your Future” workshop hosted by Senator Althoff.

The workshop, hosted in partnership with the Fifth Third Bank, will give current and future homeowners the opportunity to get information on a wide range of topics, including incentives for first-time home buyers, options for refinancing and loan modification, and how to prevent foreclosures.  

It will be held Saturday, August 22 from 11 am to 2 pm at the Woodstock High School – 501 W. South Street.  

“These are very challenging economic times for homeowners,” Althoff said. “This workshop is aimed at getting as much information out to them as possible – to let them know what resources are at their disposal in staying financially afloat. We also want to give prospective homeowners in our area details on the options and incentives available to them.”
 

Local and state financial officials will be on hand to present information and answer questions, In addition, translation services will be available to any Spanish-speaking residents interested in taking part.
