Springfield, IL - A resolution rejecting a recent Compensation Review Board recommendation urging a 3.2% Cost of Living Increase (COLA) for General Assembly members, judges, constitutional officers, the Auditor General and certain appointed officers was adopted by the Illinois Senate Thursday.

State Senator Pamela Althoff (R-Crystal Lake) voted in favor of House Joint Resolution 121, saying that it would be irresponsible to approve pay increases of any type when Illinois is billions of dollars in debt and the backlog of unpaid Medicaid bills is at an all-time high. Furthermore, the state's full-time employees have not seen a raise in four years.
