SPRINGFIELD, IL – State Sen. Pamela Althoff (R-Crystal Lake) is reaching out to constituents to get their feedback on how Illinois should best address the looming state budget crisis.

Local residents are invited to join the Senator on Tuesday, March 3 at 7:10 pm for a teletownhall meeting. By dialing 1-877-229-8493, pin number 13014, residents can participate in the meeting over the telephone.

The Senator will be conducting numerous poll questions on the budget crisis, and will seek out residents’ opinions on various spending cuts and tax increases being sought by state legislative leaders.

“Illinois is in the worst budget crisis in its history, and we face many tough choices in the weeks and months ahead,” Althoff said. “This coming fiscal year, the state faces a budget deficit of $9 billion or more, along with $5 billion in unpaid bills. As we move forward, I want to hear from my constituents on a regular basis on how we should proceed in dealing with this crisis. This teletownhall is one way people can share their views with me on how we should address the budget shortfall.”
