Area residents interested in how Illinois’ share of the federal economic stimulus plan will be spent will soon have some answers, says State Sen. Pamela Althoff (R-Crystal Lake).

The State of Illinois’ incoming Chief Operating Officer Jack Lavin has announced the creation of a new Web site detailing how the federal government will distribute Illinois’ portion of the $787 billion stimulus plan. The Web site, www.recovery.illlinois.gov, is expected to be up and running by Friday, February 20 at noon.

“Understandably, many people are eager to find out exactly how the stimulus money will help our state,” Althoff said. “This new Web site should provide us with some answers, and give us a better idea how the money will be spent.”

In addition, interested individuals can go to www.recovery.gov, which details how the stimulus dollars are being spent on the federal level.
