Springfield, IL- As the prospect of a special election for United State Senator fades, State Senator Pamela Althoff (R-McHenry) is expressing disappointment with the lack of action on the part of the majority party’s legislative leadership.

“We were called back to Springfield to vote on legislation that would have taken the Senate appointment power out of Governor Blagojevich’s hands, and allowed the people of Illinois to elect our next Senator,” Althoff said. “We need to restore the trust in government. We have one former governor in jail, and another one that has been arrested.”
