SPRINGFIELD, IL – Senate Republican lawmakers proposed a seven-point plan to “shock” the Illinois economy back to prosperity during the week, while their Democrat counterparts gave the green light to hundreds of millions of dollars in state fund raids.

Also during the week, Senate Democrats voted to restore $50 million in “member initiative” dollars vetoed by the Governor last year as pork barrel spending. Meanwhile, a bipartisan group of lawmakers urged the Governor to meet state obligations to conservation districts across Illinois, according to State Senator Pamela J. Althoff (R-Crystal Lake).
